The Anthros Chair is a premium ergonomic chair designed to improve posture and alleviate back pain for long hours at a desk. While it comes with a higher price tag, its unique pelvic support system, adjustability, and build quality make it a worthwhile investment for those who spend a lot of time sitting.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Reduces back pain by promoting proper posture
  • Highly adjustable and supportive
  • Free video consultation for personalized setup
  • 60-day return policy and 12-year warranty

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Pelvic support system may take time to adjust to

Pricing and Options

The Anthros Chair starts at $1,897, with customizable options that can raise the cost depending on your preferences:

  • Frame color: Black or off-white (+$99)
  • Upholstery: Six fabric or four synthetic leather options (+$299)
  • Back panel designs: Ten options, including wood veneers ($159–$298) or stylized panels ($79–$299)
  • Casters: Standard or scratch-resistant (+$25)
  • Control knobs: Black, chrome (+$39), or gold (+$49)
  • Armrests: Arm-free or adjustable 4D (+$149)

Anthros also provides a free video consultation with a certified ergonomics therapist to help select the right chair and configure it for maximum comfort.

Build and Assembly

The Anthros Chair ships in two boxes and arrives mostly preassembled. Setting it up is straightforward and takes just a few minutes. The chair features a strong yet lightweight frame made from glass-filled nylon with some structural parts in polypropylene and ABS. Despite using minimal metal, the frame is durable, supporting up to 400 pounds in testing, even though its official weight limit is 300 pounds.

The seat is upholstered in Gabriel Fabrics Athlon, a breathable and smooth material that’s a significant upgrade from previous versions. The padding is firm but comfortable, with intentional hollows to relieve pressure on the sit bones.

Ergonomic Design and Pelvic Support

Unlike conventional chairs that use lumbar support, the Anthros Chair employs a two-part pelvic support system. The lower and upper back sections are independently adjustable to align your spine correctly. This design encourages proper posture, reduces slouching, and supports your sacrum and coccyx.

Additional adjustments include:

  • Tilt tension control (up to 16 degrees)
  • Height adjustment with a gas cylinder
  • 4D armrest movement: up, down, forward, backward, and rotation

This chair requires a brief adjustment period, but once aligned, it provides a slouch-free, supportive sitting experience that is rare in most office or gaming chairs.

Comfort and Performance

During testing, the Anthros Chair maintained its comfort and support for extended sitting periods. The pelvic support encourages an upright posture without forcing rigidity, which helped reduce lower back strain. While the chair feels lighter than metal-framed alternatives, it performs exceptionally well in stability and durability.

The chair’s firm seat and contoured back, paired with adjustable features, make it ideal for work-from-home setups, gaming, or long office hours.

Final Thoughts

The Anthros Chair is a high-end ergonomic chair that delivers on comfort, support, and posture correction. While the price may be higher than traditional office or gaming chairs, its unique pelvic support system, adjustability, and durable construction justify the investment for those struggling with back pain or seeking long-term ergonomic benefits.

For those who prioritize posture and pain relief over cost, the Anthros Chair is one of the best options available in 2025.
